Dr Krisztina Jeszenszky
Hematológus
Meet the Doctor
I gained my clinical experience in the Department of Haematology and Stem Cell Transplantation at the National Institute of Haematology and Infectious Diseases, South Pest Central Hospital, where I am involved in caring for patients with haematological malignancies and those undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplantation or receiving advanced immunotherapies.
My main clinical interests include the investigation and treatment of anaemia, particularly haemolytic anaemias, with a special focus on cold agglutinin disease. I also have a particular interest in haematological malignancies and stem cell transplantation.
Alongside my clinical work, I conduct research as a PhD student at Semmelweis University. My research focuses on infections in severely immunocompromised patients. I also study the gut microbiome and the potential clinical applications of faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT).
In my practice, I believe that investigating haematological abnormalities should involve more than interpreting a laboratory result. My aim is to establish the underlying cause, provide patients with clear, understandable information and develop an individualised plan for further investigation or treatment.
